Two global brands, two loyalty ecosystems, one alliance. American Express and Accor aren’t just signing a commercial deal — they’re merging two visions of premium travel.
American Express and ALL – Accor Live Limitless have announced a global partnership. The consumer message is direct: “more ways to travel, earn and be rewarded.” The scope is international, with Canada highlighted in the initial announcement.
What the Partnership Delivers for Members
The core of any loyalty partnership is expanded optionality. ALL members can now earn points through American Express spending; Amex cardholders gain access to Accor’s network — more than 5,600 properties across over 110 countries — with enhanced earning and redemption.
For the frequent traveler, that means faster point accumulation and broader redemption flexibility. For both brands, it means their loyalty programs become more attractive without requiring additional customer acquisition spend.
The Strategic Logic Behind the Alliance
Accor built ALL as its proprietary engagement program — an alternative to loyalty value captured by online travel agencies. American Express built its differentiation on exclusive travel experiences and privileges competitors struggle to replicate.
This alliance reinforces both positions simultaneously. It gives ALL financial credibility and a distribution reach that only a partner like Amex can provide. It gives American Express hotel depth that complements its lounges and concierge offering.
A Model Built for Premium Travelers
The Accor-Amex partnership fits a broader trend: major travel and payment brands building alliances to retain the segment that travels most and spends most. That traveler isn’t optimizing for the lowest price — they’re optimizing for the total experience. That’s exactly the space where ALL and American Express coexist — and where they reinforce each other.
